CLOGG Cast - John-Luke Roberts

Hello, welcome to CLOGG-CAST! As I can’t currently run my alternative comedy night called ‘CLOGG Comedy’ and as we all have to be indoors, I have started a mini podcast series. Join me as I chat to various unique comedy acts.

CLOGG essentially means comedians laughter LOGG. It aimed to be a welcoming space open to acts to practice their highest level of comedy. I hope that it acted as a network for acts to join the forces of stand-up, musical, sketch and character comedy. As well as a safe space for performers to explore many topics and styles of comedy craziness.

John-Luke is the co-founder of hugely successful Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, which he hosts with co-co-founder (also a co-founder) and nemesis Thom Tuck. The ACMS aims to celebrate Noble Failure, and give a home to the strange and different in live comedy.

If there are ACMS fans listening then tweet @jlukeroberts, @AltComMemSoc or myself @CLOGGCOMEDY with your fave or weirdest ACMS memories.

He has also written for Have I Got News For You, Newzoids and Nevermind the Buzzcocks, and received the BBC Radio Comedy Writers Bursary in 2009.

I’m the architect of my own demise. The best bit was building the little model of my demise and putting little plastic people round it (and one little plastic dog.)
